Carter 9 Months

I am only a few weeks late on this post.  :-)  Carter turned 9 months on November 1st!  He weighs in at 20 pounds 10 ounces and is 30 inches tall.  He is in the 60th percentile for weight and head measurments and 95th for height.  He only had to have 2 shots this time, the flu shot and Hep B booster.  He did pretty good, only cried when they poked him and then wanted Grandma to hold him.  My baby isn't a baby any longer!  He is into EVERYTHING!  Here are a few things he is up to now:
  • He has 4 teeth, 2 on top and 2 on bottom and is working on another one...
  • He likes bananas now...so there isn't any food that I have given him that he doesn't like.  I think his favorites are sweet potatoes, yogurt and pears.  He likes pancakes-he really likes them with syrup, but I only let him have a small amount.  He also tried Ramen Noodles and Macaroni and Cheese at Aunt Amy's and really liked both.
  • He is a Daddy's boy...which is ok, but makes Mom kind of sad.  He gets SO excited to see his Dad when he gets home from work.  Most of the time he crawls over to him and just laughs and laughs.
  • He can say Mama...NOT Daddy...so that makes me feel a little bit better :-)
  • Carter loves people and is always smiling at everyone.  He is quite the flirt.  Dr. Gould asked me at his 9 month check if he was afraid of stangers and I almost started laughing.  There is no such thing as a stranger to Carter.  In fact on our way home from Texas there was a man sitting next to us that kept looking at Carter during the flight, during the end of the flight Carter put his hands out to him and so the man held him while we de-planed.
  • He loves his puppy Zoe, they have a few toys that they share and sometimes fight over.  Zoe is very gentle with him and gets excited to go into his room in the morning.  She stretches out her paws and props herself up on his crib so she can see him.
  • Carter loves the bathtub!  He hears the water running and comes crawling as fast as he can...which is pretty fast.  However, once he is in the bathtub he will not sit down.  He likes to stand and play with the faucet.
  • He can wave hi and bye and puts his arms up to signal big boy...of course he only does all of this when HE wants too..
  • The only thing that I am worried about with Carter is how we are going to pry his binkie away from him.  He LOVES it and that is an understatment.  If it isn't in his mouth he has it in his hand crawling around the house with it.
  • Dr. Gould also said that he has the most hair of any 9 month old he has ever seen.  It is getting long and out of control...but his Dad isn't ready to cut it again.
  • He is walking with toys that have wheels and along walls with one hand...and attempts to climb things.

Happy Halloween

We went to the pumpkin patch with the Palmer boys a few weeks back

This was the best picture I got with all 4 boys.  Rocky and Sawyer were being shy..

Not Canyon..

Wow baby pumkins..just my size!

Carving pumpkins with the Lawtons...Sophie wasn't really into it.  She just kept saying Yuck!

Carter was more interested in eating his pumpkin

I carved a "C' in Carters pumpkin and a skull and crossbones in Nates pumpkin and on the way home they fell over and both broke so I didn't get any pictures of them lit up...oh well!  I did complain that the C didn't look very good and Maggie said...Kami, it looks perfectly!

Heading out to go trick or treating

Trunk or treating with Kari and the kids...he loved sitting in the trunk and watching all the kids

San Antonio

I had a conference to attend in San Antonio, TX last week and it was Nate's week off work so he and Carter came with me and we turned a work trip into a little family vacation.  We had never been to Texas so we were looking forward to it.  We left Utah in 50 degrees and arrived in Texas to 90 degrees and 40% humidity.

On the plane on the way there....it was about 10 minutes late which was 10 minutes too long for Carter.  He cried for about 15 minutes (I am sure annoying everyone on the plane) but then fell asleep.  He did pretty well over all.

Checking in to the hotel...he was exhausted.

Dad bought Carter a sombrero on their way to lunch..pretty cute.

River walk tour...it was hot and muggy but it was still neat to see all the old buildings and hear some history

We were able to go to Austin and see a few things, one was Texas stadium and campus, it was pretty impressive

We went to Cabela's on the way back to San Antonio, Carter was in a good mood chililn in his stroller.  The Cabela's was almost exactly like Lehi's...they even sold roller mill mixes.

Out to eat Texas BBQ...

Carter enjoying some of dad's peach cobbler and ice cream

Hanging out in the hotel room with dad...he did a lot of this and was a trooper.  Luckily it was pretty baby proof and we had toys to keep him entertained most of the time.

Nate surprised me and booked a facial at the Aveda Institute...when I got there they didn't have my appointment down but they were still able to get me in.  I don't know if they felt bad or what but my 1 hour facial last almost 2 hours.  It was awesome! The best and cheapest facial I have ever had hands down.

The trees inside were awesome

Eating lunch the last day..we discovered that Carter likes pickles.

At the airport getting ready to head home, we bought him an Armadillo to try and keep him entertained.  It worked for about 10 minutes.  He did ok on the way home, just frustrated to sit on mom and dad's laps for 3 hours.  He dropped his binkie about 5 times, the last time Nate was so frustrated he said he wasn't even going to look for it.  The stewardess brought it to us later, said a passenger found it about 4 rows back.

It was a LONG day...we didn't land until 9 p.m.  We got on the park n jet shuttle to get the jeep and I felt a warm sensation on my leg...yep apparently his diaper was so full that he was peeing on my leg.  So I stripped him down and changed him so we could drive home.  He thought it was pretty funny and so did Dad.
