Oregon Family Visit

Nate's Grandma, Aunt Carrie and Nephew Jake came to visit for a week and it was so much fun!  Jake was on spring break and we surprised Nate.  We picked them up at the airport and Nate was picking up the bags and asked Carrie what to look for.  She said they had 3 red suitcases and Jake's big black one.  Nate said he was wondering why they would borrow Jakes suitcase...then Jake walked up behind him.  I'm glad we were able to pull it off!   We didn't do very much while they were here...we did make it into SLC one day, but mostly just hung out at home with Carter.

Jake was so excited to meet his cousin! He was so good with him, and Carter loves him.  He settled down as soon as Jake would pick him up or talk to him.

Jake brought Carter this outfit...so cute.

If Grandma wasn't holding Carter, she was holding Zoe.

Aunt Carrie doesn't like her picture taken, but she would let me get her with Carter.

As you can see from pictures...this is what we did most of the time.  Lounged...it was a great visit.  I had a lot of help, got some sleep and didn't have to cook.  Thanks so much for coming.  We love you all and miss you tons!!!!

Brittany's Bridal Shower

We had Brittany's shower on the 12th of March at Mindy's house.  We had so much fun and had a great turnout!

Aunt Michelle loved the food.

Grandma has the touch! Carter slept for over an hour on her lap.
Amy organized the games and Brittany had to answer questions about Randy.  Every time she got one wrong she had to put a sticker on her face and a bow in her hair.  She didn't get any answers right until the end of the game when Amy told us that most of her answers were right..she just wanted to make the game fun, and it was...the little girls loved it.

On a side note...I left my camera at Mindy's the night of the shower.  When I got it back and uploaded the pictures I saw all these random pictures of Mindy's house and this....I guess I know who had my camera. :-)

Happy Early Birthday Mom

Happy Birthday Mom!  Thanks so much for everything you do for us and for being an awesome Grandma to Carter.  We love you!!

Can you tell I am sleep deprived?  I posted this a day early...I guess it's better than never.

Welcome Maggie Sue!!!

She's finally here!!!  Jeph and Wendy had their baby girl on Sunday March 7th.  Her name is Magrathea Sue Henriksen. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces.  She is absolutely adorable!  Just look at that face.  We can't wait to meet her in April.  It is going to be so much fun for Carter and Maggie to grow up together and of course Grandma Kathy couldn't be more excited to have 2 brand new grand babies.

What a month...or 5 weeks I guess!

So, I really meant to post this last week but to say things have been crazy would be an understatement!  I am not really sure where all the time has gone, but this is what I can remember.  Nate has had strep throat and bronchitis since Carter was born.  I was diagnosed with Mastitis about 3 weeks ago and was the sickest and most miserable I have ever been in my life!  Then, last week I also got bronchitis. Luckily, I am feeling better now but I am not able to breast feed.  I can still pump and give Carter breast milk through a bottle which is better than nothing.  I was seen in the ER at first and then followed up with my dr.  I ended up having to get antibiotic shots every day for 7 days...crazy!  AND...after all that I thought things were ok until Carter started getting sick.  Luckily, he only has an ear infection in his right ear.  We are very lucky that he has been as healthy as he has after what his parents have been through.  We are so blessed to have the family and friends that we do.  Nate's Mom was here for a week when Carter was born, his cousin Emily came when she left and stayed for 5 days to help.  My family has been in and out helping and since I have been so sick my Mom has taken Carter numerous times so that I can sleep.  He really likes Grandmas house and sleeps the entire time he is there! Go figure.  I am glad we are all finally feeling better and hopefully we can stop giving Walgreens so much money! :-)

Carter is a great baby and is growing fast!  When he was at the doctor last week he weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces and was 22 1/4 inches long.  There is so much I love about him but here is my top 5 right now...

  1. He's mine.  I don't have to give him back....
  2. He grabs on to my shirt with both hands when I hold him on my chest. (If I can't breast feed him I will take this)
  3. He has the prettiest eyes and almost talks to me with them.
  4. He makes the cutest noises...especially after he sneezes.
  5. He brings peace to our home that I have never felt before and I hope never goes away.
I love this picture.  Maggie was sick when Carter came home so she had to wait a long time to hold him.
My friend Xan sent these frog booties, they are so cute!

Trying to decide if he is hungry or tired.
One month old...Kathy wanted a picture in his diaper, his face is so funny in this pic

Grandpa came over to visit, but held the dogs instead of Carter
First bath

Chillin with dad, Nate says he has smiled at him twice...I don't believe it. :-)
Emily and Carter

Thanks for coming all the way from Oregon to help us Emily! We love you!!!

I had really good intentions of taking pictures of Carter with all of his visitors but that hasn't happened.  We have had so many people mail us packages, and bring us dinner, or just stop by to visit.  We are SO SO blessed to have the friends and family that we do.  I don't think I would have made it through this last month without all of them.

Family Baby Shower

I had my family baby shower at Kari's on February 15th.  It was so much fun.  I had a great time visiting with everyone and it was fun to have Carter there.  He was held the whole time and everyone got to fight over him.  I got a lot of great gifts.  My mom, Kari, Amy, and Mindy did a great job planning it and I really appreciate everything they did! Amy couldn't come because she got sick at the last minute, luckily Reghan and Tailor still were able too and they helped me open my gifts.

I am so lucky to have so much family in my life and SO close.
