Las Vegas

We bought my Mom tickets to see Garth Brooks for Christmas and her birthday so we headed to Las Vegas for the weekend. Maggie came with us. We rented a condo and planned on just hanging out and swimming. Carter wasn't the best 2 year old in the car on the way down.  He started crying and wanting out before we even got out of Tooele County, luckily he settled down and did better.  He still only slept about 20 minutes the entire trip! So when we got there I just let him lose.  I guess he decided to unpack first thing..

We went to Sams Town to eat at Billy Bobs the first night, they had a big animal display and Carter was amazed!

So Saturday morning the kids are up bright and early which means so is Kami.  (Nate & Gma are sleeping) it was supposed to be close to 75 that day so I got the kids all hyped up and ready to go swimming.  Getting them ready and to the pool in the condo took at least 45 minutes by the time you blow up the floaties...you know how that goes...we get there and the swimming pool is freezing, and the hot tub is scorching hot...yep just our luck.  So we head back to the condo and I decide I will find an indoor pool.  I find one relatively close, load the kids up, find the place, get them in and they aren't doing open swim that day!  I thought Maggie and I were going to have a meltdown! So we had a swim party in the bathtub.

Saturday afternoon we went to Ceasers Palace to walk around and have lunch.  We ate at Max Brennars, the food was really good, but Dessert was awesome.  We shared the urban smores. Yummy

We of course had to go see the big fish tank

We decided to go to MGM and see the Lions and then go to M&M World. Well the Lions are gone, so we just walked through.  Carter had had enough of the stroller and was so dirty by this point I didn't really care...

Well, needless to say his feet were BLACK

Saturday night my Mom and I headed to see Garth..it is just as good the 2nd time.

I was a rebel and took a picture of him at the end.  They are so strict about photography but I knew I probably wouldn't get back so I had to try.  Not the best pic, but I got one.

Sunday we just hung out, met some friends for lunch and then went to visit Coon's.  We left the kids with Kevin & Dyanne and went to dinner with Glen and Marcia at Binions.  Best meal in Las Vegas, hands down.
Monday we headed home and Carter was much better in the car.  We made it home without any issues.

29 weeks and counting

We went to fetal foto to get an ultrasound video and a few more pictures of the baby.  We had to wait a little bit for our appointment so the tech took some 3d pictures for us.  We caught the baby yawning a few times (Carter did the same thing) and the babies mouth was moving the entire time (which makes us lean a little towards "girl") The baby was also just curled up in a ball playing with it's feet the entire time.

 In deep thought

The pregnancy is going really well.  I am tired and the main difference with this pregnancy is having a 2 year old to take care of! No time to rest.  We are so excited to meet this little baby...Boy or Girl!

New York New York

I had (yeah had) to go to training in New York in March so Nate and I made a trip out of it.  Neither of us had been to New York and didn't know if we would have the chance to go again.  Carter stayed home with Kari 1/2 the time and Amy the other 1/2.  He did pretty well but Mom & Dad missed him and couldn't wait to get home to see him. 6 days was a little too long!
We flew in Saturday night and went to Bar American (Bobby Flay's Restaurant) for dinner that night. Sunday we slept in and then went to the 911 Memorial first.  This was an experience of a lifetime.  I would go back to NYC just to see this again.  Without being there it is hard to explain the ambiance.  The thing that is so awesome about it is that everyone is very respectful and quiet.  The fountains are amazing.

View outside our hotel. I was a little overwhelmed the first night

Survivor Tree

We then headed to central park.  We took a pedi cab through half of it, it felt like you were in a movie because you have seen it all before...very cool.

After central park we went to a kosher deli for lunch...the portions were huge!

Sunday night we took the subway to Brooklyn for pizza @ Grimaldi's....We got a little lost on the subway and it took us almost 2 hours to get there.  We decided to take a taxi back.
It was some of the best pizza I have ever had.

These are the views from the top of the rock (Rockefellor Center)
And yet another meal....We went to a family style italian place, the food was so good but we had WAY too much of it.  We got the leftovers to go and found a homeless woman to give them too.  She was very grateful...made our night.

We took a double decker bus tour which was very informative, it was a great way to see the city and not have to walk! Plus, much better views.
And we ended our last night with dinner at the Shake Shack.  This was the cheapest and best meal in NYC.
