Carters Dentist Trip
San Fran
In June I had a work trip to San Fransicso. We were planning on making it a family trip and then Amy offered to keep Carter and after much consideration I took her up on it. I knew he was going to be in great hands, I just didn't know if I could make it 3 days without him! Nate and I went alone and it was really nice to just have a break and enjoy each others company. The hotel was really nice. We got to see a lot of the city and enjoy some quiet and delicious dinners. Carter had a great time and home and probably didn't even notice we were gone.
Grandpa will never grow up
Grandpa Dean will never grow up and this is one of the reasons why we love him so much. My mom took Carter home for a few minutes one night (to keep him from crying when she left) and this is how he came home. Grandpa is infamous for doing this to all the kids so I thought I better document Carter's first turn.
Independance Day
We started the day off at the Grantsville City Parade. I have always enjoyed the parade but I am a little annoyed that it is all about advertising now and there are only like 3 real floats. Carter liked it but didn't run around like I thought he would. He was content just to sit on my lap and watch. It was cloudy and there were a few rain drops but all in all it was fun.
After the parade we came back to our house for The Browns 1st Annual 4th of July Party. I have always loved the 4th of July so we decided to start a tradition and have a party at our house. We rented a water slide and a spiderman bounce house. We had a BBQ and just hung out and played all day. The kids had so much fun, and the adults did too.
Carter went down a few times, he had a good time. I took him down once and on the way up I looked back and fell down the stairs backwards with him in my arms. We were both ok and I am so glad it's not on video! Ouch.

We ended the day with our own firework display and the Gville city fireworks. It was a really fun day and I am looking forward to next year!
Grandma Willard
We were so lucky that Grandma Willard came to visit. She was here from June 30th-July 8th. Grandma has done a lot of traveling in her life but this is the first time she has flown alone. She did a great job. She had to get searched by the TSA but it wasn't that bad. We had such a great time with her. Carter loved having her here and wouldn't leave her alone. They ate all their meals together and played most of the day. He would follow her around and just wait for her to sit down so they could play horsey or read a book. I am so glad they were able to spend so much quality time together.
33
I really can't believe I am 33...but it is true. I had a really good day. I got to see most of my family, got sang too multiple times, numerous texts, and of course facebook posts. The Palmer girls brought me a birthday cake and Nate, Gma and I went out to dinner. Nate also did a great job this year. He surprised me with tickets to Garth Brooks in Las Vegas in November. I am SO excited!

Tubes
Carter had ear tubes put in on June 3rd. After his 5th ear infection we decided it was time. I wish I had done it after the 1st one!
Getting dressed
Exploring
He didn't want to go...
Turns out getting him ready and seeing him walk off with the nurse was the easy part. Dr. Ventura came to update us and said the surgery went great and we could see him in about 5 minutes, well about one minute later I heard him screaming 2 rooms away. He was so mad and didn't understand what was going on. I held him and just let him thrash all over the place. I tried to give him his binkie and it fell on the ground, the nurse went over to wash it and brought it back to him and he snatched it out of her hand and gave her the dirtiest look! We got him home and down for a nap and when he woke up he was good as new.
He is sleeping so much better now. I am so glad we decided to do the surgery.
His Oregon family sent him balloons and this puppy. He loves it! My mom and Kari brought him a bucket with toys and balloons.
